while on the carrier/cellphone business, can anyone make an understandable summary of how these work?
In my head (where everything is possible, not probable) it seems that the network exists like a river where every physical tower is a delta of sorts (it distributes the information) and the cellphone users are the drinkers of the water (maybe more, since i have a suspicion that sometimes signals “bounce” off my cellphone and maybe redirects it to another cellphone). So the carrier’s job in all of this is to mount the towers and (with the technology availiable in practically everycomputer) limits the people from drinking water from the river.
Is this vision correct? I think not, but it would be nice to be able to “tap” the waterlines without needing someones permission…
